Senior team suffers first loss
A 45-minute lightening delay stops the Trojan momentum as Lee County scores 5 after the break and a seventh inning rally falls short in the 7-4 loss to very tough Lee County. Starter Jackson Pleasant is touched for a 2-run homer by Patrick Oldham but cruises into the delay without giving up another score. The Trojans answer in the 2nd when Jeremy Conyers reaches on a Jacket error and reaches third on Ricky Martin's single. Conyers tags and scores on Matt Powell's sacrifice fly followed by a Pleasant RBI single to knot the game at 2-2. After the lenghty delay, Lee County packages three singles for a 3-2 lead. In the fifth, the Jackets score twice to add to their lead. Kevin Baker takes over in the sixth, The Jackets get a single and a two out double to push two across for a 7-2 advantage. Drew Gay relieves and sits the Jackets down in order in the sixth. In the final frame, pinch hitter Matt Price starts the rally with a walk and moves to second on Dillon Creech's second hit of the night. A wild pitch moves the runners up a base before Hunter Brown RBI single. Conyers singles scores Creech to cut the lead to 7-4. But not enough to avoid their first loss and fall to 3-1 on the season.
