JV Trojans Pick up Shutout Win

The JV Trojans picked up another win on Thursday night with a 38-0 shutout victory over Smithfield-Selma at Charles T. Tucker Stadium.

Garner began the scoring when Raevon Smith scored from 15 yards out to put Garner up 7-0. After the opening score, Vince Jefferies found Greg Stewart for an 18 yard score and the Trojans took a 14 point lead.
The Trojans made it 21-0 when Smith returned a punt 50 yards midway through the second quarter. Then, the final score of the first half came with just three minutes to go as Smith scored again, this time from eight yards out and gave the Trojans a 28-0 lead heading to the locker room.
In the second half, the Trojans continued to pour it on as Smith scored once again and Tyler White added a 31-yard field goal (he was also a perfect 5-5 on PAT's) as the Trojans rolled to a 38-0 win.
Garner is back in action on TUESDAY night at 6:00 when they host the Knightdale Knights in a make up of the game that was rained out earlier this year.
