With the bases loaded, Adam Morrison delivered an infield single to score a run. After two more errors and a walk, the Wildcats had batted around and led 4-0, however, Norris pitched himself out of the jam and left the bases loaded.

Garner (2-3, 0-1) answered right back in the top of the third. With two out, Brandon Tant and Taylor Stephens had back to back singles. Alec Hulmes followed the singles with a home run over the wall in left and pulled the Trojans back to within one at 4-3. Garner put two more runners on as CJ Schmitt singled and Norris reached on an error, but a groundout ended the threat of anymore runs for the Trojans.

However it looked like the Trojans couldn't capitalize as the next two hitters struck out and flew out. But, Norris walked and Connor Torruella was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Brett Walters who reached on an error allowing Stephens to score and knot the game at four.
