Garner used a late second quarter spurt to take a 13 point lead into the locker room on Friday night at Trojan Coliseum and never looked back as they defeated Knightdale for the second time this season, 96-70.

Both squads played a very competitive first quarter with both Dominique Reed (six points) and Curry Lassiter (eight points) leading their squad in the first stanza, but the Trojans had the advantage 18-15.

Garner (18-2, 11-1) used a 4-0 run over the first 59 seconds of the second quarter to take a seven point lead prompting Knightdale (10-11, 8-4) to call their timeout in the contest. But, the Trojans kept going inside to Reed who finished the first half with 16 points, however the biggest shot of the half came from Josh McClain who nailed a three from left of the key as the first half buzzer sounded to send the men of Troy into the locker room up 46-33.

The Knights came out in the second half and couldn't get any rhythm going as Reed continued his dominance down low while McClain poured in six third stanza points to make it 69-53 Trojans after three.

Garner poured it on in the final quarter as they entire team saw action while Reed finished with 29 points and Demarcus Sanford scored nine second half points to finish the game with a career high of 14 points and lead the Trojans to a 96-70 win and the season sweep of the Knights.
