Garner scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to erase what was a four-run deficit as they remained undefeated with a 7-5 win over the Broughton Capitals on Friday afternoon at Wiley Warren Field.

The Trojans (3-0) trailed by three at 5-2 entering their final at bat and after a pair of singles from Brighton Hudson and Aquail Sanders, Skyler Strickland saw 10 pitches in his at bat before drawing a walk to load the bases with one out. Taylor Stephens followed with a RBI groundout to pull the men of Troy to within two runs with just one out remaining.

Levin Woodall followed at the plate and down to his final strike, Woodall, hit a ball back up the middle that was knocked down by the Broughton second basemen but his throw pulled the first basemen off the bag allowing two-runs to score and knot the game at five. Two batters later, Alec Hulmes drove a ball down the right field line to plate a pair and give the Trojans a 7-5 lead.

Broughton (0-3) came to bat in the last of the seventh facing Hulmes (W, 1-0) with the meat of their order at the plate and the Trojan right hander promptly struck out the side.

With the victory, the Trojans improve to 3-0 for the first time since the 2006 season. Garner will return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Athens Drive to face the Jaguars. First pitch is slated for 4:00.

**The JV baseball team also moved to 3-0 with their 5-4 victory over Broughton at Trojan Park. The JV Trojans will be at home on Wednesday at 4:00 when they host Athens Drive**
