Garner scored a run in every inning of Friday night's game as they pounded out a season high 13 hits and scored a season high of 14 runs as they defeated East Wake 14-4 at Trojan Park in a game that went just six innings because of the ten-run rule.

The Trojans (5-3, 2-0) got off to the races early in the game scoring three runs in the opening inning off Christian Neal (L, 0-0). Levin Woodall led off the game with a double down the line in left and after a Tyler Marshburn walk, the Trojan lead off man scored on an Alec Hulmes groundout to make it 1-0 Garner. The men of Troy added two more runs thanks to a triple by Skyler Strickland and a wild pitch by Neal made it 3-0 Garner after one.

East Wake (4-3, 1-1) scored a run in the top of the second to pull to within three, but Garner responded with a run in the bottom half as Aquail Sanders led off the inning and scored two batters later.

The three run lead was more than enough for Trojan lefty Brighton Hudson (W, 2-0) who worked five strong innings and scattered just six hits allowing three runs with out a walk and striking out five.

However, the Trojans were not done scoring as they added a single run in the third and three in the fourth on a two-run double by Marshburn. Garner then plated two more in the fifth inning on a CJ Schmitt two-run blast to center.

The Trojans led 10-4 entering the last of the sixth and scored four runs to win the contest by the 10 run mercy rule, 14-4.
