Volleyball Bounces Back

Following a non-conference loss to Cary to start the week, the varsity volleyball team bounced back to pick up its 39th consecutive Greater Neuse River match, this time over Knightdale 3-0 on Tuesday night.

Garner (9-2, 5-0) took the opening game of the match 25-12 followed by a 25-8 victory and closed the match with a 25-15 win.

Kristen Powell had 15 of the Lady Trojans 30 kills on the match while Garner added 26 service aces in the match Powell led the team with seven followed by Courtney Weathersbee and Ka'asha Jefferies with six each.

The lady Trojans are back at home on Thursday night at 5:30 when they host Southeast Raleigh at Trojan Coliseum.

Additionally, the JV team earned another victory downing the Kinghts 25-21, 26-16 and 25-20. Coach Simering and his JV squad will return to action on Thursday at 4:30 against Southeast Raleigh.
